Davidoff Vault Cuvee Selection 2012, also known as Year of the Dragon, is a blend that exhibits classic Davidoff flavor characteristics, and till now enjoyed by very few around the world. This Interesting cigar uses tobaccos that create very subtle, yet complex flavors; a blend soon found to be the inspiration for our Master Blenders when developing future Chinese Zodiac releases. The Cuvée Selection 2012 uses the legendary 702 Habano wrapper, along with a Habano Ecuador Binder and three very different filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic. A special blend that delivers refined intensity, with satisfying, complex flavors of wood, ginger-spice, vanilla, black coffee and leather.
1/3 –
Stimulation of spice and salt. Flavor notes of black coffee, wood, vanilla and leather. Aroma is fairly woody and the retro-hale is very smooth with spice.
2/3 –
Aroma has become much sweeter revealing a mix of dark fruit, chocolate and wood. Stimulation in the palate is heightened in the sweet region, while still present in the spice and salt region. The tobacco intensity is pleasurable and subtle.
3/3 –
Flavors continue to stay woody, with heightened spice. Dark fruit notes remain, along with notes of semi-sweet chocolate. Aroma has become sweeter despite the dominance of the wood aroma. Stimulation is very clean, with a nice finish. An example of well-balanced flavors and a balanced blend of tobaccos of enjoyable strength.
